We are seeking an experienced, resourceful Data Product Owner to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for driving and defining the vision for Big Data platform within our company. You should have a good understanding of big data technologies and Agile methodologies to build a strong foundation of data platform to support the organization’s business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build the data platform roadmap to align the company’s goals and mission
  • Gather the requirements and translate them to user stories
  • Establish initiatives and ensure alignment with cross-functional goals
  • Prioritize the product backlog and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Coordinate with UI/UX team, Data Scientists, Operations, and Finance teams
  • Collaborate with multiple, geographically-diverse agile development teams to execute the roadmap
  • Responsible for ownership of the data lake

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field; master’s in Computer Science, Information Management or MBA preferred
  • Three years previous experience as a product owner, business analyst, information management in a related field
  • Solid understanding of the data product lifecycle, advanced knowledge of data modeling and analytics preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL/Python/R preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices
  • Working knowledge of software development process
  • Comfortable working and communicating effectively with multiple teams, in-house and remote
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with Business Analysts, UI/UX team, leadership, and internal and external stakeholders
  • 0 – 15% travel may be required
